Here it is

Hello dear bloggers. How was Halloween for you? Candies, chocolates, lollipops, cupcakes. There'll be more on sale tomorrow of those yummy stuff, lol.
Let's get down to stitchy business. 2 hours ago, I did the Halloween Blog Hop, it was so fun seeing different designs from great stitchers!
On WIP update: Before anything else, I’m letting you know it didn’t go as planned… NO YELLOW! But hey, 3 threads down this week, woohoo!
Yep, I opted to do the darker hues among the remaining light threads which were: light moss green (166), light violet (554), and tawny (945)
Light violet stitching on the flowers, present and street signs.
Finished off the foliage with light moss green, same goes for the ribbon on the gift.
Added more skin and house paint with tawny.
(Only 4 threads remain, woohoo!)
 The Orts:
…And with that done, I have started the much-awaited Yellow (I strategically placed that picture there with the ORT to keep me going!) Next update on this will surely be a grand lemony splash!

Reindeer Games

Hello blog friends.
I was not able to get a picture on Happy Day progress.
But I do have an update on Reindeer games:
I  did medium brown just leaving the other reindeer names (which I intend to put in last... So you can still ponder on all their names, lol). By the way, those little brown spots there are not reindeer droppings, mysterious huh? Then I finished off Christmas red (#321), I really wanted to see something vibrant in there.
This is all for now. Time to go to bed.

Christmas Start

Hello friendly bloggers! Hope you all had a lovely stitching weekend.
Mine was spent leafing through magazines for that new project to alternate with Happy Day... I eventually decided to start the Christmas chart bought in July (while I was doing 12 Days of Christmas).

For fabric I'm still using aida, antique white, another 16ct. (Can you believe that! Yep, I'm surprising myself as well that I'm using this count more often than I thought I would... but still won't abandon 14, haha.)
I started with medium brown (#433). Not much progress eh? Yesterday, niece and I went to a party, that's why. Oh, I also bought some stitchy stuff on the net, so I'm still happy even if I didn't get a single stitch on Happy Day (because I left it at home). I'll try to make up for it this week.

Better Progress

Hello friends.
More stitches done this time around. Three colors added on Happy Day WIP:
Finished off 402 (very light mahogany) on the house, basket and the darkest skin color. I'm also done with the gray shadows including the half stitches. Next came sky blue mainly on the shop and car glass, I've only left those spots on the girl's dress.

Closer look on the spaces stitched on:
Now only 7 hues remain:
These are very light colors but will definitely be a joy to stitch with, especially those yellows to go on the car:)
I was excited to work with yellow next that I separated the thread into 3 strands and put in a bobbin, this way I'll just keep on stitching without any hassles in picking those strands.
Oops, gotta go.

Weekend Stitching

Hello wonderful blog friends.
First of all, many thanks for the kind comments on the last post:) Such a delight to read posts coming from different places!
I spent the weekend on my Happy Day WIP.
Sorry for the dark and blurry picture. I continued on the gray until I got bored. Then two colors were added, moss green (leaves) and geranium. I know it's not much, but I was still reeling from that Halloween finish;) I'll do better next time. I guess it's also time to be looking into some charts for a new project to alternate with this one, we'll see...

Framer Mode

Hello my dear friends.
Last night the stitcher couldn't resist to transition into a framer. The urge was so great I got to it right after I got home from work (dinner got delayed just a little, thanks DH for waiting, haha.) Yup, I think that's how potent that witches' brew was!
Apologies for the photo overload:
These are the other fabric squares I bought, and the frame I told you about in my last post (I think it's 10 x 18)
For matting, I used dark fabric resembling an eerie night sky. On this photoshoot I placed the excess fabric below the frame for added drama, lol.
Last look at the details:

I'm so pleased to have this finished before Halloween!

Finished with The Branch

Hello dear blogging friends. I did it!
I'm finally finished with my Halloween WIP!
Though I did a lot of frogging (I was already croaking) on the words, I'm still good with how it turned out. I did them in backstitch because the letters were too small. The frogging came after I found the line neither fit nor was centered, so I had to graph each line on paper first.
This is how it turned out:
TA-DA!
There's that frog on the left visiting me, haha.
Aside from the letters, I also modified some space. There should have been "two" tombstones (one between the houses and another at the end of the branch), but I just don't like seeing tombstones with my witches - it would be like a gruesome interpretation of Hansel and Gretel, lol.
Good news, I have just the frame that would fit. I bought it at Homegoods for the discounted price of $6. More good news, I bought fabric squares at Joann during their Columbus weekend doorbusters, a dollar each instead of $2.50. I'm excited at how this will turn out:)
I'll show it to you next post, it's getting late.

Happy Day WIP

Hello dear bloggers.
I have finished two colors again on Happy Day - 167 (dark yellow beige) and 783 (topaz)
These colors were mainly used on the shoppe door and the car (now it has a body!:)

More good news - I'm about to finish The Branch, hopefully I'll be done with the backstitch by tomorrow;)
Bad news is -I have been so slow on reading my bloglist due to stitching and work :(, please bear with me. I'd also like to thank those who've been constantly leaving comments on my WIP updates, I truly do appreciate each lovely word!
Thank you for visiting. Happy Stitching.

Happy Day WIP

Hello dear friends. Quick post.
This is brought to you by the numbers 741 and 893. Yes, two hues finished, tangerine and carnation:)
This boy looks like he's got more blush on!... or he was more moved by the kiss... or maybe his face is bigger, yeh, I think that reason sits well with me.

The two colors go on the pots/vase, bag, flowers, canopy and gift.

Not really for Stitching...

Hello dear blogging friends.
Two weeks ago there was a career development fair at our workplace. University giveaways galore! We really look forward attending such events because we need pens, lol. I don't know how one can leave a cellphone on the desk for an entire day and nothing happens to it, but leave a pen for a minute and it magically lands in someone else's hands, hah:)
Anyway, let me just say something about one of the freebies - a cellphone holder. I don't really use one so I was wondering what to do with it.
TA-DA!
For this photo shoot I finally brought out my birthday scissors (the one I asked poor DH to buy;). I also tried needles, some stick, some don't. You see the flowers at the bottom? I glued that to hide the school's name.
Bobbin therapy again last night...
I haven't finished after more than an hour, thanks to some bothering from DH, but in his defense he was asking for my opinion on some things:) So I had to put bobbinating aside.
Now we go to Happy Day-
You can tell I'm really enjoying this one. I'm so excited to see everything taking shape, thank you for all the encouragement! I finished three colors, woohoohoo!
Purple on the gift and bouquet/flowers, steel gray on the car, shop windows and house, and peacock blue on the shop.

In a Monkey Mood

Hello blog friends.
No, I wasn't monkeying around. And I'm not stitching a monkey pattern...
But I have been swinging from Branch to Branch!
The witches put a spell on me to take them seriously. So, after two weeks without hearing from them, you may now see for yourself that I was indeed stitching on it little by little.
Here's The Branch:
I stitched the snowflakes or flowery things in 738 instead of 712 which was very light against the fabric. I did the backstitch too, adorable (?) spideys! I'm only missing the windows (712-ecru), that space between the houses and the words. Actually still got no idea how to put in those words on this 16ct. coz they're so tiny, maybe the witches can cook up a magic potion to give me superstitch powers:(
Then we swing to another branch!
See, that's a branch on top! I don't know why, but I was really in the mood to do all the browns this time - coffee brown, mahogany, light mahogany. Aside from that branch, there's major improvement on the houses on the background, and the kids' hair and shoes:
