Guilt stitching

Hello friendly bloggers.
This post is being brought to you by the bad aunt who couldn't shake off the guilt for deceiving a little girl last week (remember the jellyfish? yup, that niece).
Sunday evening I started searching for a freebie jelly pattern to turn into a bookmark, I found a simple one at cyberstitchers.com (I guess the stitch fairies are still on my side, lol).
Only 4 colors in the original chart (coral , cranberry, christmas red, and black for backstitch), I picked a blue one for the border to add an ocean feel to it and maroon for the letter J which happens to be her initial (as in jellyfish, haha):
I wanted to finish it by week's end because we'll be seeing each other "again," so I have been putting a few stitches everyday. I added another jelly in yellow because the bookmark was too short with just one;)
Friday I was already backstitching! It's not everyday you can say "I braved the backstitch for my niece."
Today's the day of absolution. This was presented to her trimmed four squares from the border so she can finish it off. I originally thought of laminating it, then I realized she would immensely enjoy ripping the threads:
TA-DA!
Best aunt ever!
Thanks for visiting. Happy Stitching!
