Reindeer Games

Hello dear blogging friends.
This week Reindeer Games is catching up to speed. I have finished all their names and more...
I used gold on the trees instead of white to add glitter. Here's a look on the white that I started for the snow (at the bottom of those two trees):

If there's one thing I know, this snow desperately screams "makeover." You can hardly see it at any angle...
  So I bought these:
It will be another first for me, sounds crazy but I never tried Light effects and satin floss before. I hope they add the needed sparkle since I don't intend to stitch the border (supposed to be green and white). The border makes it harder to center the piece on a frame (if I decide to do it myself, teehee).
I guess this means I'll be frogging next then shift to Contented Cat.
Thanks for visiting. Happy Stitching!

  1. I hate the DMC metallics but they're pretty. Use short strands for sure. You could always stitch over the white so it creates a bit of a 3D effect. Good luck I'm excited to see how it turns out!

  2. Lovely progress!! :) You are right about the border. I frame cross stitch on my own and even after adjusting a lot , the border won't look perfect straight.

  4. Oh it is gorgeous! I just love this design; I even checked to see what it would cost to buy (looked through your old posts to see where it's from). I love how you added sparkle to the Christmas trees - we can't have too much sparkle for Xmas, right?! Let's hope the snow comes out well with the Light Effect; it can be a bit springy but otherwise you should manage alright:)) Can't wait for the next update!

  7. What a beautiful design! I've never tried Light Effects but you could try Kreinik mixed with regular DMC for a bit of sparkle.
