Santa's in town

Hello friendly stitchers!
I'm back with a "stitching" post. The tons of museum pictures are set for the blog future...because I want to focus this one on my Santa finish!

Make Do and Mend

Hello dear bloggers.
I'm not going to flood you with museum pictures this time, teehee! (Since I had a very loooong post last time, I'm going to make this really short for your pleasure).
I got a lot of progress to show on Make Do and Mend:
I finished "DO," started the border, then got bored, so "...and" came intothe picture (between DO and Mend, I hope you can see it). I don't know if I will do backstitch on it (which is not required) to make it more visible, but it looks okay to me.
Thanks for visiting. Happy Stitching!

Stamping around the world

Hello dear friends. (Note: stitching update at the end).
This time I'm sharing pictures from the Smithsonian's National Postal Museum:
The museum opened in 1993 in the old City Post Office Building which was built in 1911-1914.

Of course I had to take a picture of the ceiling:

The first adhesive postal stamp (Great Britain, 1840):
Let me open it for you:

 A History of US Stamps:

Now let's go around the world, I had to jog my memory of my bloglist countries, I hope I did not miss anyone (in case you missed, Great Britain was already covered at the top):

 "Moving the Mail"
(features 3 vintage airmail planes, 1931 Ford Model A postal truck, an 1851 stagecoach, a replica of a railway mail car and a full-size semi-truck cab cutaway)
  (Nice ceiling again:)

Owney, a stray dog who became the Mascot of railway mail service:

You can search up stamps by categories, DH looked up music. Don't they look like miniature works of art?
I tried stitching, crafts, sewing- with no luck. So I just put pop culture:)
And now I give you the rarest of them all (worth millions$$$!)
I hope you enjoyed the pics (sorry if it's just too much, I have a problem with editing, haha). I couldn't squeeze two museums in one post, do you want me to bleed from editing? I still have the American History, Natural History, and Air and Space Museums, which are my favorites from this trip.
But hey, this is still a stitching blog, so here goes:
A sneak peek of Prairie Schooler Santas. This is Sewing Santa, all done. The three others are coming to town real soon.
Thanks for visiting. Happy Stitching!
