Summer Breeze WIP

Hello fellow bloggers and new friends. It's my end of the week update.
I'm excited to tell you that I have been working double-time, make that triple, on Summer Breeze. Trust me, I have a very valid and insane reason for putting down Petal Fairy and Summer Fragrance for now. I will tell you all about it in my next post.
For the meantime, let me show you where I'm at with Summer Breeze:
I have Miles Davis and Stevie Wonder to keep me company during this shoot. Personal favorites: Sir Duke, Superstition and Send One Your Love. I'm not really that into Miles, that's more DH's preference.
I finished the border (finally!), the tree and the inset. I hope you can see the letters below the house, the colors used on the chart are so light.
I'm just missing some more words which are in brown (which I already bought). Next post will be a finish... then I'll tell you what's behind my rush, teehee.
Thanks for visiting. Happy Stitching!

Petal Fairy WIP

Hello dear friends.
Petal Fairy makes a comeback. As planned, I stitched that lightest yellow to finish the skirt part.

I have now moved on to her skin. I have not stitched with Kreinik before so I'm taking my time :)

Summer Breeze WIP

Hello again dear blogging friends.
It's my end of the week update. Here's Summer Breeze:
I continued some of the border until I got bored with it (again!), so I did the browns of the house and beehive. I'm on light blue now.
This weekend I plan to pick up Petal Fairy. I'm bracing myself for more yellow:) and skin colors.

Pattern Purchase

Hello dear friends. Here are the two used charts (OOP) I got from Amazon. They are fairly priced and pretty decent (no markings or tearing).

A vintage Norman Rockwell pattern (published in 1985) I intend to stitch the one on top as a gift. I just don't know when I will be able to start it.
Next is a Ziggy booklet (published in 1984) I was quite surprised to see that it's full of patterns. Twenty I think.
I'm still undecided which one I will do to give Big niece. She just finished highschool and will be moving to a university dorm in August. I think I can find something cute for her  future room. I just can't imagine that she's all grown up.
She graduated highschool with an Associate in Arts Degree, is in National Honors Society and also received a President's award. {Please pardon the proud aunt - who wisely blurred the name so in case Big niece discovers this in the future, she won't kill me, lol.}
Kill me for giving a cross stitch present again! wahahaha.

Summer Breeze WIP

Hello friends.
Here's a quick update on Summer Breeze by Prairie Schooler.
Added the green words. I started doing the border but got bored after a while, so I went ahead with the pink (near the roof) and the blue.

Goodbye Birthmonth (see you next year:)

Hello dear blogging friends.
May is almost over. My new-used charts are still somewhere out there, so I don't have that picture. Oh, I've got new pair of scissors DH gave me a few days ago (actually I told him I want a new one, handed it to him and he paid the cashier like a good hubby would do, haha, along with mounting boards and aida fabric). The scissors' still in the box, now I don't know why I asked him to buy it, maybe to take advantage of birthmonth. Lately, I've been inspired by stitchers who framed some of their cross stitch and the results were pretty nice. I've been wanting to try it for some time. We'll see what I'll come up with (I have a frame sitting around somewhere).

Anyway, here's my latest on Petal Fairy:

I'm 32 colors in. The wings are only missing the Kreinik. I might have to do the light yellow first before the skin. Not a bad way to close birthmonth eh?

Summer Breeze start

Hello dear blogging friends.
What was I supposed to do? The fabric stash needs to be trimmed down, an empty ORT jar needs to be fed, and a new pattern is gathering dust on top of it (nope, that's not dust but fingerprints, mine to be exact, haha, can't keep my hands off!)
TA-DA!
Summer Breeze by Prairie Schooler
(Halloween and Christmas are still months away, so I started this one.) I'm doing it on 14 ct. Oatmeal Fiddler's Aida. I finished the dark red and now am on the brown (need to buy another brown), next will be green. The colors are somehow a shade darker than the picture on the booklet, but it's a breeze starting this, so easy to count because of its small size. This is something I can stitch late at night (or til dawn, lol:)

Petal Fairy WIP

Hello friends.
I'm still having so much fun stitching the Fairy's dress. I'm now done with 27 colors, woohoo!
I also did some stitching on her hair. Here she is:
Pardon the creases and lighting.

Nobody said it was going to be Easy

Hello dear blogging friends and new friends. I hope you're all having a nice Sunday.
So here's the thing: Time to come clean. Remember when I said in past post that I'm more matured now, Birthmonth entitles me to spend on stitching, but I'm limiting it to TWO patterns, and I already bought one (Summer Breeze by Prairie Schooler), bla bla bla...
Well, turned out I'm only human. The comments were warning signs that this task is going to be tricky! (Rosey said goodluck on just two patterns, Jo said get value for postage money, ladies sure know their stuff).
Online I feasted my eyes on the cutesy, whimsical, to the superduper difficult ones. So I trimmed it down, crossed off the difficult ones (which means No HAEDs for me, whew that's a no-brainer, haha).
Still my wishlist is a mile long, lol.
Bottomline: I bought two more new patterns which already came in, and two used patterns bought yesterday on Amazon which I don't have an estimated delivery date yet.
Here's the two new ones:

Branch by Barbara Ana Designs
12 Days of Christmas by Frosted Pumpkin Stitchery

Why these two? I've never done Halloween before and I love the cute Christmas design which will also remind me what gift falls on what day, hah! AND "backstitching" almost nada, ding ding ding, we've got a winner!

Petal Fairy WIP

Hello blogging friends. Time for my end of the week update on Petal Fairy.
I'm 22 colors done, mostly stitched on her skirt and the flower. I just love seeing that outline of her arm right there. Have a nice, relaxing weekend everyone.
Thanks for visiting. Happy Stitching.

New Pattern

Hello friends.
Here's part one of my online purchase to celebrate The Birthmonth.
My Kreinik for Petal Fairy finally came in, accompanied by 2 different brands of needles, thread conditioner, and Summer Breeze pattern. It's my first time doing a chart by Prairie Schooler. Yes my friends, I'm trying new stitchy things... I really must be growing up, haha.

Petal Fairy WIP

Hello friends. Here's my progress on Petal Fairy.
This particular shoot had me listening to The Who and Van Morrison. Of course, it's DH who put it on. Nothing like intense Keith Moon drumming to give much needed adrenaline rush. Personal faves: Baba O'Riley (or more popular to me as Teenage Wasteland); Moondance and Crazy Love.
I'm just so into doing her dress. The wings got some lovin' too.
